Vacuum Metallizing has been a decorative service at Cary Products since the early 1960. Vacuum metallizing coatings can be applied to most plastic substrates to give a bright “chrome-like” finish in silver or a custom color of your choice. Excellent for low heat light reflector applications. Our Stokes Vacuum Metallizer has a 72” x 72” chamber for the physical deposition processing and the dip-flowcoating method is use primarily for base and top coating.
The vacuum metallizing process works through applying a metallic coating around the piece. The pieces that you want coated are placed in a rotating rack, to ensure even coating, inside the vacuum chamber. Once the vacuum has been created in the chamber, the metallizing material is then heated until it evaporates. Meanwhile the piece is being rotated on the racks to make sure that it is being evenly coated with the vaporized metals.
Often times we can save customers the shipping cost from your present molder if we can also quote your plastic molding as well. Please give us a call to review your products.
